Unemployment in Russia down to 6.1% over August

Unemployment in Russia fell to 6.1% over August, according to the federal statistics service.

The number of economically active people aged 15 to 72 years totalled 76.7mn, or 54% of the country's total population. Of that number, 72mn are gainfully employed and 4.7mn are regarded as unemployed in accordance with the ILO standards.

The employment rate - the percentage of the workforce that is employed in the given age group - was 65% in August.
