From 19 to 25 February 2006 the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Louise Arbour, will visit the Russian Federation on the invitation of the Government. During her stay Ms. Arbour plans to visit the North Caucasus, including the Chechen Republic, the Republic of Ingushetia, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alaniya, and Saint-Petersburg. Also, a number of high level meetings will be held, including a meeting with the President of the Russian Federation V.V.Putin, the ministers of the interior, defence, and foreign affairs, as well as other officials and representatives of NGOs.
